259 Murgon to Gympie QLD

Hi all

We were still in our PJs when we waved goodbye to Trent, Jade and the kids. We then enjoyed breakfast overlooking the lovely view of the fog down in the valley. In Murgon, we bumped into Fiona and Mackenzie just outside the local IGA and had morning tea with them. We returned to the fish farm and packed our remaining gear into the van and then resumed our journey. After saying goodbye to Max, Deirdre and Craig, we had lunch at Bjelke-Peterson Dam. The birds kept swopping down to steal our lunch, so we taught Erik to say ‘shoo birds’.

Outside Gympie, we found a pretty roadside rest stop with a large lagoon populated by ibis, geese and ducks. We took the boys for a walk to watch the birds while the sun set.  It was the busiest bush camp we have ever stayed at, there were nine other caravans/motorhomes but as the area was very large we weren’t too crowded in.

Love Bec
